The Powershot is the best camera out there except for ISO it’s missing 50 and 80
    Deep color photo’s also 60 frames 720P Video and 1080P 60 frames.
It’s missing slow motion video recording.
It’s missing the new 45x Optical Zoom and 240 Digital add zoom with hgih rez chip.
Wireless picture tranfer (Internal in the camera)
    Auto clsoing lens
Once they have this it will be complete.

  5. mariaames2010

I have it and it’s a great camera I love it

  6. shortsharpreviews

@RAWRnomnomIMMYDEE95 Depends on your priorities – Canon has slightly better image quality but Panasonic is much faster. Personally, I’d go for the Panasonic.

  7. RAWRnomnomIMMYDEE95

Witch is better then the lumix or the Canon? For taking photos.

  8. RAWRnomnomIMMYDEE95

@shortsharpreviews oh okay. :) & it is my hobby already check out my portfolio. i just needed a better camera to work with.

  9. shortsharpreviews

@RAWRnomnomIMMYDEE95 Yes, it works really well on Auto mode so you don’t need to be a photography expert to use it. Having said that, if you just want a point and shoot camera there’s no need to spend this much and get something this bulky – you might be better off with something like the Canon Ixus 230 HS (see the review on my channel). But if you want to get into photography as a creative hobby, the SX40 HS is a great choice.

Is this camera okay if your starting in the photography world? Cause im thinking about getting this camera.

@DeathlyHall0w Could you send me the exat link. And what do you mean by “flash the firmware”? Does it mean that the firmware on the camera will still be accessible?

  12. DeathlyHall0w

@LazerLord10 In program mode the camera should allow for higher iso exposures @ 1 second. However I highly recommend that you try CHDK (Canon Hacked Development Kit). It will allow you to change every parameter you could imagine (and even those you cant!) and adds several interesting functions. It is free to download and its absolutely 100% safe as it does NOT flash the firmware. FYI my SX230HS also fixes the ISO to 100 in manual when selecting a shutter speed starting at 1s.regards

    Lazerlord, email them your self

  14. brunoschalch

I shot a small video with this camera, search Never Swap Your Mirror – POV Short

  15. brunoschalch

@OhSoKelli yes you can, you just have to go to video mode, and then click on the little flower on the left, then select macro mode and done!

  16. shortsharpreviews

@LazerLord10 That is a little strange. I’ll see if Canon wants to comment.

  17. shortsharpreviews

@greg3o3 I *think* so but I can’t remember for sure. Can any SX40 HS owners confirm?

  18. LazerLord10

Hey, could you e-mail or contact the Canon company for me? There is a flaw in the camera that is a deal breaker to some people. In manual mode, if you have an exposure of more than 1 sec., it automatically sets the iso at 100, limiting nigh-time shots. This problem could be fixed with a FIRMWARE UPDATE. Could you please e-mail canon about this, because it would make this camera that much more wonderful. Please do it, for i really want to see this camera be the best camera out there.

  19. greg3o3

is there manual focus while shooting in movie mode?

  20. shortsharpreviews

@OhSoKelli I’m not sure and don’t have the camera here any more. Can anyone else help?

  21. shortsharpreviews

@LazerLord10 Yes cap: yes. Zoom during video is optical. Normal videos are at 1080p (ie 1920×1080) at 24fps, but there’s an alternative mode that captures at 640×480 and 120fps, and another at 320×240 and 240fps. These play back at 30fps for 1/4- and 1/8-speed slow motion but the resolution is much lower than the 1080p videos.

  22. shortsharpreviews

@AlbernDc Select SCN on the dial on the top of the camera and then press FUNC. SET and select High-speed Burst HQ from the scene preset options.

  23. AlbernDc

God i just bought this camera, but where is the High speed burst mode? :( can anybody help me?

  24. LazerLord10

Hi, I really would like to own this camera, and have used a PowerShot in my earlier photography hobby, but I have some BIG questions. Is there a lens cap for this camera that is included? When shooting video, does the camera zoom digitally or optically? And also, I’ve read on dpreview that this camera has a massive 240 fps video at low quality. Is this true?

  25. OhSoKelli

I have a question- I just got Is it possible in video mode to set it to like a macro focus setting so that it will focus on small objects while recording and if it is, how do you do it?

  28. TOCParkourTeam

u got that top from asos

  29. mamba109

If there’s a constant stream of focus, is there a half-shutter press?

  30. OsamaBinMasood

Is it good for low light shooting like marriage, indoor party with poor lighting ?

I like your accent Mr.Mike Lowe.

Which Camera should I buy Sony Alpha SLT A33 or the Nikon d3100?

  33. OsamaBinMasood

How good is the battery life?

  34. OsamaBinMasood

how good is the build quality?

How good is the image quality of the alpha a33

  36. simbeane

I want to see a comparison between a DSLR and a DSLT camera in terms of image quality. Many people said the SLT mirror reduce image quality, that’s just a criticism. I wanna see a real and detail image comparison to justify that claim.

  37. Peppersaur

Does it have full 1080p video, or only 1080i?

  38. mismis888

@JallenFilms no problem :D saving up for it myself :p

  39. JallenFilms

@mismis888 thankyou very much for your help. i am buying this camera tommoow :)

  40. mismis888

@JallenFilms Yes you can. So it is basically a DSLR.

  41. JallenFilms

@mismis888 but you can use different lenses with this camera right?making it a DSLR.??

  42. mismis888

@reallytb It is, but its not. It is camera-wise, but they cant call it DSLR, because of the translucent mirror technology. Produces just as good pictures/videos though, but with 7fps at an awesome price.

  43. mcnamaranicholas

this guy is the most boring reviewer ever…

  44. reallytb

So, would this be considered a DSLR or no?

  45. hercules71185

@euyoooo I like it, I like the handheld twilight mode for low light and everything. But, the advantages of a DSLR are more light, and Sony lenses, kind of… Well suck. You have very few choices for middle level. You have to buy zeiss which is over prices, and tamron and sigma for cheaper lenses and they are not very good. Canon offers the best entry level set ups. I’d still stick by sony myself with that said. Because the zeiss lens is worth it for me with the rest of the benefits it offers.

  46. hercules71185

@WhatDigitalCamera I like the live view, optical viewfinders are overrated. lol. The only real advantage of a DSLR is the amount of light that hits the sensor. 30% if the light is pushed away from the sensor so that means you have to compensate for it whether it’s iso, aperture, or shutter.

  47. euyoooo

sorry sir, forgive my ignorance and please answer this question
what are the reasons that can make me leave this one and go to normal DSLRs ?!
any drawbacks ??! is it compatible with all sony lens ?!!
what’s is the big deal DSLT or DSLR really if it does the same job and even better job for a beginner or some1 like who like to shoot AF video and great stills on the same camera !!

  48. thegadgetzone

    @MrThunderMonky

thats true, i didnt think about it like that

  49. MrThunderMonky

    @1650million
Sounds like someone is a Nikon fan? I think that especially because of price you should buy this camera, what dim-wit would buy something twice as expensive just to get the same results?
